A lightweight, cordless, handheld ultrasonic processor used to disrupt cells, homogenize, disperse, and emulsify small samples.

 

Cat. No. 4180, Sonozap Ultrasonic Homogenizer up to 50 mg soft tissue samples suspendede in 0.3 to 5 ml homogenization buffer. Probe easily fits into microvials. Comes complete with 115 volt charger.

 

During operation, the material is rapidly sheared and disintegrated by ultra-high frequency mechanical action. Complete homogenization of small samples (1-50 mg) of soft tissue (muscle, liver, brain, etc.) is usually achieved in one minute or less. The 1/8 inch diameter, 6 inch long titanium probe easily fits into microvials or deep narrow vessels. The Sonozap has outstanding specs: tip energy 125 Watts/cm2 and a stroke of 90 microns. It also has advanced features such as auto-tuning, auto-power demand and overload protection. Being cordless and light weight, the Sonozap can be either hand-held or stand mounted.

*When sonicating biological samples in a small volume of homogenization buffer heat formation must be aggressively controlled. This caution applies using any brand of sonicator.
