Surface Preparation

Surface must be clean and dry. SSPC-SP3 power tool cleaning is recommended to remove any rust and scale, dust or dirt. A "tack cloth" is provided in each carton for removal of fine dust particles. Oil, grease and all other residue are to be removed per SSP-SPI solvent cleaning.

Tapecoat Gray Pads have an integrated primer on the pad. The use of liquid primer may be desired at colder temperatures (below 40°F) or on a rough substrate application.

Remove the release liner and press pad firmly into place conforming the pad to the holiday.

Wire Splice

Remove release liner. then place the wire splice in the center of the pad and fold the pad over (adhesive to adhesive) sandwiching the splice in the middle of the pad, then press pad firmly together.

Remove the release liner and press firmly into place over the thermite weld making sure to overlap the area of the wire insertion securing a good overlap seal.
