Digibloc provides a safe, dry and consistent method of heating using accessory aluminium heating blocks with excellent thermal conductivity. The microprocessor controller has the facility to retain a user adjustable, independent time and temperature combination making it ideally suited for variety of purposes including heating tubes, micro tubes or bottles, which demands repeatability.
The unit consists of a low profile durable corrosion resistant stainless steel case with chemical resistant wipe clean sloping control panel with touch buttons to enter temperature and time values. Indicators show heating, alarm, time and set point modes in use. Supplied with Bloc extraction tool as standard for the safe removal of blocks even when hot and filled with tubes.
In the above image the BH-1/DIG Blockheater is fitted with accessories: BHL-1 Lid and safety cover, easily fitted and hinges in use for convenience; Also fitted with two Blocks the DBK-0.2 Bloc for 0.2ml micro tubes or 6 x 8 PCR strips and DBK-0.5 Bloc for 0.5ml micro tubes.

New low mass heating area providing fast and responsive block heating, 100°C take just 8 minutes.
Remote measurement
An accessory probe can be plugged into rear for 'in block' measurement of its actual temperature and controlling set point. The PID temperature controller learns and manages the mass, its heating rate and temperature rise to minimize overshoot achieving set temperature. Once plugged in the accessory probe automatically overrides the internal sensor.

Temperature Performance Notes
A. To verify the performance of the temperature control system the unit undergoes a factory calibration procedure which calculates the temperature values over the operating range of the equipment from two reference points.
B. A printed calibration record is available as an accessory option and can be ordered when unit is purchased quoting Stock No. CAL.
C. This record provides a measurement of precision about set point with maximum and minimum sensitivity readings obtained. Precision is defined as "(1) The ability of a measurement to be consistently reproduced" and "(2) The number of significant digits to which a value has been reliably measured."
D. This record does not provide or assures any form of accuracy. Accuracy is defined as "the ability of a measurement to match the actual value of the quantity being measured".
E. Where Accuracy is required use a calibrated external reference thermometer or measuring device and adjust set point to suit.

Notes :
1. Where workloads are small and an incubator is not required because no bacteriological culture work is performed, a DigiBloc can be used for incubating samples in a test tube.
2. Compared with a water bath, dry incubation benefits from reducing the risk of moisture entering test tubes which can be associated with water baths.
3.To ensure good heat transfer and correct incubating temperature of samples, the size of the hole in the bloc must be correct diameter of the tube used.
4. When using the solid accessory bloc, it can function as a small hotplate.
5.When using the DigiBlock ensure the accessory blocs mating surface with the heater plate is kept clean and free from debris and there is good surface to surface contact, essential for correct heat transfer and temperature control. Clean the bloc regularly, never use caustic cleaning materials, if required the block can be autoclaved.

Uniquely identified with its own serial number recorded on our product database, which includes all of its manufacturing inspection data.
Electrically tested for safety at final inspection and a test certificate enclosed in rear of the instruction book.
To verify the performance of the temperature control system, digital display units undergo a factory calibration procedure which calculates the temperature values over the operating range of the equipment from 2 reference calibration points.
11. Powder painted body providing a durable finish and protection against corrosion and now featuring “active anti-bacterial technology”. This paint finish actively inhibits bacterial growth improving hygiene requirements as demanded by many clinical and laboratory environments. Hygienic coatings are part of a controlled approach to cleaner facilities. The Clifton range has always featured easy to wipe clean smooth paint finishes that are resistant to routine and efficient disinfection’s, however this improved coating featuring ‘active anti-bacterial’ properties provides an extra layer of defence. This new anti-bacterial paint finish is effective against major strains of bacterium including E-coli and Staphylococcus aureus, resistant strain. Within its formulation an active ingredient is a proven anti-bacterial agent bound into the coating during application and curing to the product. The efficacy of the paint finish applied to the Clifton range is maintained over time, as the anti-bacterial agent is integral within the paint finish.
