An upgrade of the cylinders is also possible in mounted condition. An uninterruptible operating of the plants is usual during the installation. There are no mechanical extensions at the piston. There are no sealing problems because of the usual opening in the cylinder wall as it is normal with other sensor principles.
There is a permanent coupling and function control of the sensor. To mount the ultrasonic sensor at the measuring position a bracket will be used to fix it at the cylinder wall. The coupling works with temperature stabile coupling means. The usage of sensors grants high solidity against disturbances and allows a reliable operating also within rude industrial environments.
